For many New Zealand dairy and livestock farmers, vertical mixer wagons are a familiar choice. They're well established, widely used and have proven their value across different farming operations. But familiarity doesn't necessarily mean they're the best solution for every farm.

One of the standout machines on the NC Equipment site at Fieldays 2026 was the Arcusin MultiPack E14. Designed to take the hard work out of handling small square bales, the E14 generated plenty of interest from farmers looking to improve efficiency, reduce labour and spend more time getting the job done instead of handling bales by hand.
During Fieldays, Ben Garton, Territory Manager for Palmerston North, spoke about what makes the Arcusin E14 different, but one comment in particular stood out.
In New Zealand, the three primary fuel options for ride-on mowers are petrol, electric, and diesel. Meanwhile, biofuel is rapidly gaining traction globally as a sustainable alternative and is anticipated to become more widely available in New Zealand in the near future.
When it comes to maintaining your lawn, selecting the right ride-on mower can make all the difference in efficiency, ease of use, and satisfaction. Whether you’re a homeowner or a commercial operator, understanding the key differences between steering wheel mowers and zero-turn lever steer mowers is essential.
When you are looking at ride-on mowers available in New Zealand, it is easy to get caught up in the marketing hype around different brands, styles, and sizes. When you have a well-designed brochure with flashy pictures and cleverly positioned buzz-words, combined with a commission-hungry salesperson telling you everything you want to hear, it you may be tempted to buy a mower without trying it first.
When it comes to weed control, farmers face the choice between inter-row weeders or herbicides. Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages depending on the farm and environmental considerations.
Your tillage system has a significant impact on your soil health, crop yield, and environmental impact. So the question is — which tillage method is better?
It may sound like a funny question but actually it’s one of the most common questions I get: ‘Why is that I see ride on mowers at my local hardware shop for $5,000 but also see ride-on mowers at dealerships for ten times that amount. What is the actual difference, they both cut grass don’t they?’
A common question we get from customers is whether to purchase an Arcusin MultiPack or a Marcrest BALE BARON®.
Both small-bale packaging systems are designed to streamline your hay operation and eliminate manual handling. So which one is best suited for your farm?
In this article, we compare the Arcusin MultiPack and the BALE BARON® ranges, outlining the strengths of each and the types of applications they’re best matched to.
Some people have a very specific need for their particular property and they know exactly what configuration they require for their mower, but it is not uncommon for some people to be a little bit unsure what the best choice would be, or even what all the options really mean.
Let’s face it: some people are naturally very mechanically savvy and are more than capable of repairing or servicing their own mower. Other people, like me, are not mechanically minded and rely on experts to spin the spanners when required.

Cutting grass doesn’t have to be a chore. In fact, it can be enjoyable and therapeutic if you have the right tool for the job.

When you’re in the agricultural industry, farming machinery and equipment are indispensable. However, agricultural machinery is far from cheap and the breakdowns are often costly to repair. Also, it’s a pain when untimely mechanical failures affect your productivity and profit and you are not able to plant or bale on time.
Neglected machines can result in inefficient operation, poor results and operator injuries, halting operations and putting your workers’ lives at risk.
Here are a few tips to properly maintain your machinery and equipment.
